In MemoryOnofrio Loduca
Ono was a shy man but his zest for living and his passion for souls made this otherwise shy person rather bold. Many times his faith was tested and challenged, but it always stood the test. The Word of God was a light onto his path and a lamp onto his feet. It was the gauge by which he lived his life and was the measuring tool by how he raised his family, and worked on his job. When Ono was born, there were some issues regarding his legs and feet that left them wondering if he would even walk. Not only did he walk, he ran. In fact, it was the strength in his legs that earned him recognition in his soccer and ball hockey teams. Likewise in his faith he walked it well, but not only walked - he ran .... Until the end of this part of his life it could be said, "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (2 Timothy 4:7), the faith that testified to the grace of God (Acts 20:24). Ono would often be found in the early morning hours on his face before God and today, I can still see that huge smile on his face as he would excitedly say, "For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face" (I Corinthians 9:12). Today he is truly in his greatest delight, face to face with the God he so loves.
